One Computer Per Child

The Roatan Children’s Fund is participating in a new and very exciting program – Digital Roatan, fondly known as One Computer Per Child. We're partnering with Rotary of Roatan.

The objective is to provide children in grades 1-6 with a Chrome tablet that they will continue to use through grade 6. As we all know, it is impossible to find meaningful employment without computer skills.

Each tablet is $260. Included in this price are headphones and personalized programming for each child.

Please consider making a donation to help fund this critically needed program.

School soccer ball and volleyball project

The Roatan Children's Fund has initiated a project of supplying soccer balls and volleyballs to the schools. We have found out that if the schools have balls for the kids to play with then the kids will stay in school longer and keeps them occupied after school. Many of the families are too poor to afford sports equipment, so we give them out to the schools. The kids, especially boys, attend school longer because they can come to school and play soccer with their friends before class and during recess. A gift of $20 US will purchase one new good quality soccer ball or volleyball. Sports netting can be purchased and made for $50.

School Supplies Project

Since 2006 the Roatan Children’s Fund has delivered thousands of pounds of school supplies to the schools on Roatan Island. You can help by including school supplies when you visit Roatan. Visit our wish list section for ideas. You can leave the supplies at the Rotary Booth at Port of Roatan or Mahogany Bay.  We will also pick up from your hotel.  Please just email us in advance.  You can also use the donate button and we will purchase the needed supplies.
